The Vimeo on MagicWall™ application for Android® provides a unique way search or select videos on Vimeo® and play them on the Video Partition or full-screen on an MagicWall™ server from an Android® cell phone or tablet.

When the application is first launched, it scans the network for MagicWall™ servers. Once you have selected your MagicWall™ server, the application will obtain the list of available video categories from Vimeo® and display them as a list. The list is scrollable and contains the top 25 most popular categories on the Vimeo site. You can get more information about a video category by pressing the selection for more than 3 seconds (long click), which will display a page of information with images for the selected category.

An alternate way to fetch videos other than browsing through the categories, is to search for them. A search is provided in the Android® Options Menu on this page. Pressing the Menu button on your device will display the Options bar at the bottom of the page. Pressing the "Search Vimeo" button in the Options Menu will bring up the Android® keypad, allowing you type in your search keywords.

The Options Menu also has a few other items for configuring your application for interacting with a MagicWall™ server. These settings are “remembered” across sessions, so there is no need to enter them each time. The settings are for the specification of the Video Resolution, Video Size, and Video Position. You can check what the current settings are by pressing on the About… menu.
Once a category has been selected, or a search string provided, the application will fetch video information that meet the selection criteria and display them in a horizontally scrolling gallery of thumbnails.

The highlighted thumbnail has brief descriptive text beneath it. More detailed description, including larger images can be displayed by performing a long click on any video thumbnail, irrespective of whether it is highlighted, and selecting Show Video Details from the popup menu.
Tapping on any video in the gallery will send it to the connected MagicWall™ server for displaying. If this is the first time that you have selected a video for playing, any currently playing video on the MagicWall™ will be interrupted and the new video will start playing. You can continue to tap on other videos from the current gallery or from a different selection, and they will be appended to the new playlist on the MagicWall™ server.

The videos will play with the Resolution, Video Size, and Video Position, that were specified in the Options Menu above. Once all the selected videos have finished playing, the previously playing playlist will resume playing at its original Resolution, Video Size, and Video Position.

You may choose to interrupt your own new playlist by performing a long click on any video on the gallery, which will bring up a pop up menu.

Now, if you chose Clear Playlist and Play, all the videos you have already sent will be the discarded, and playing will resume with the newly selected video. Of course, you could also select Append to Playlist, in order to not disrupt the currently playing videos and merely queue the newly selected video to the end of your list.
